Art + Science was founded on a European style of apprenticeship where education is the essential foundation to a healthy career. Our goal is to provide a long term stable home for every stylist, colorist and barber in our salons. Apprentices are truly the foundation of salon. They are crucial to every single stylist’s success; no questions asked.
Under the direction of the salon manager and educator, the apprentice (assistant) is a hard-working, self-motivated, punctual professional with a passion for the beauty industry. This apprenticeship program is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience at a premier salon. We also offer an abbreviated advanced program for more experienced professionals who are looking to fine tune their skills before advancing to the floor. Assistants will have the opportunity to work side by side with experienced stylists, colorist and/or barbers (including master level professionals), with shampooing, coloring, blow drying, or styling. We are a departmentalized salon because we believe that the only way to truly become a master of your craft is to focus your skills, meaning our artist specialize in either styling, coloring or barbering.
Building a relationship with each and every client, will be the best part of your day. It will also prepare you for your own business or assist you with growing your current clientele. This hands-on experience helps every apprentice to become a well-rounded professional. You will truly be a master of your craft by the time you end your apprenticeship and advance onto the floor. We aren’t seeking perfection; we are seeking passion for the industry!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Support our team of Barbers, Cutters/Stylist and Colorists
Support Stylists + Barbers while Shampooing and sweeping their clients
Support our Color Team with Shampooing out color, applying glosses/toners and offering a complimentary blowdries. This will include hands-on training by our education team prior to execution.
Maintain cleanliness of the salon throughout the day.
Oversee Color Inventory
Communicate with the Front Desk regarding clients
Provide support for front desk staff
